Design Notes

FptA originates in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and therefore has a high GC-content which makes it hard to synthesize and amplify. Therefore we utilized an E. coli codon optimizer to lower the GC-content and increase the expression rate in BL21. Another difficulty came about due to included RFC10 restriction sites which we had to mutate to make the gene iGEM compatible
